Class’Mat®: a building materials website for professionals
Class’Mat® is a Luxembourg brand of external thermal insulation systems. I designed and built their website: one place where professionals find the system, the products, the technical documents and the quantities they need — in French, German and English.
The task
An insulation system is not one product but several layers that work together. Professionals — installers, planners, builders — need to understand the system, find the right product for each layer, download the technical documents and work out quantities, in their own language, often on a phone.
What the website does
The system, layer by layer
An interactive façade cross-section: every layer has a marker that opens the product used in it.
Products in order of installation
The catalogue follows the order in which the system is installed, so the products read as one system.
Technical documentation
A library of technical documents with search and filters, ready to download for the planning office or the site.
Material calculator
The whole system calculated at once: enter the surface and the choices, get the list of materials.

Three languages, one structure
The website works in French, German and English. Every language has its own version of every page, so professionals can use the whole site in their own language. See multilingual websites.
My role
Design and development: structure, visual design, the interactive cross-section, the catalogue, the document library, the calculator and the three language versions — all coded by hand, built for phones and for speed.
The website is currently on a preview address. Open the Class’Mat® website.
